What is On2Chat?

On2Chat is the result of years of work perfecting the chat model for SMS and WAP users. Our partners were among the first in the world to implement a chat platform for wireless carriers and were the first to implement a cross-carrier chat platform, allowing individual carriers to brand the service as their own, but at the same time allowing them the benefit of interacting seamlessly with chatters from all participating carrier networks. With our cross-carrier chat platform users on one network will not know whether the person they are chatting with is on the same network as their own.
After years of revisions from the original version, our technology partner went the next step and created its own chat development platform, called WAFL (Wireless Application Framework Library), making the system function more elegantly, and making future improvements simpler to build and execute.

Why use On2Chat?

On2Chat builds revenue and increases brand recognition. Its strong appeal to the youth market creates opportunities for strong product building and media-based cross marketing (TV, Movies, Web Portals, and Products).

It helps enable:
- Market Leadership
- 'MO Pull' effect
- Other non-voice applications
- Other carriers in favourable interconnect opportunities
- Strong viral effects in similar cultures
- An experimental channel for MO-only billing

On2Chat is currently deployed with major Canadian wireless carriers.

Branding concepts available to On2Chat carriers:

Personality - This is specific branding and localisation of service for the operator, including web and mobile branding (e.g. ABChat from ABTel, available to ABTel subscribers).

Zones - A third party area within On2Chat, used to cross-market with other brands (e.g. 'CarZone' chat about cars, available to both ABTel subscribers and YZMobile subscribers, available through each carrier's own, separately branded Chat service).

Sub-system - Specific branding and localisation of the service for a third party vendor. This is intended for major media organisations (e.g. create a chat Room for a popular TV show, use as a co-branding opportunity, and traffic builder).

Channels - Vertical branding using a single channel or room. This offers short term branding opportunities, often coinciding with specific events (e.g. create a room to coincide with an event such as the 'Ferrari club at Molson Indy')
